Help/FAQsI cannot loginIt is an easy mistake to make but check to ensure that you haven't accidentally added any leading or trailing spaces to your login id or your password. You may not see spaces but the computer does. Secondly, a common mistake is to confuse O (letter) with 0 (number) and l (letter) with 1 (number). Lastly, have you recently changed your password and forgotten it? Click here Request Password and we will email it to you. Uploading PhotosWhen scanning a photo for uploading please note the following:-
Writing ProfilesWhen visitors or other members search the database they are presented with a browse list of results. The length of the title they see is 80 characters and the advert body is limited to 240 characters. These limits are imposed to speed up the search browse list display - especially for members using dial-up connections. Note that the full advert text is displayed when someone views your profile. It follows then that your big sell must happen at the start of your advert and not at the end. The advert text should not contain details like Age, Eye Colour, Height etc. These are part of the Personal Details you enter when registering so that members may search on such criteria. Instead, your profile should say something more about yourself. E.g. Your likes and dislikes and what it is about the other person you would like to see. The advert title should be short and catchy. Remember the length of title they see is 80 characters. Oh, and one last thing UPPERCASE CHARACTERS are the email equivalent of shouting. You wouldn't want to be seen as someone whio is angry and shouts a lot so please don't forget to turn off CAPS LOCK on your keyboard. It's all to easy to fall into the trap of expecting email to be instantaneous and flawless. The truth is that email systems work in a way very similar to a manual mailing system. If your in-box is full, email cannot be delivered. If your address is not valid, email cannot be delivered. If your email server is busy, email will be sent the slow way and if it cannot be delivered within, typically, 5 days the mail servers will give up. It is easily done, but if you have spam blockers it is also possible that your ISP's spam filters either delete or move the mail to somewhere else. Normally you can tell the software to ALLOW mail from some addresses (e.g.admin@freedatesnow.com) or domains (e.g. proteus.titaninternet.co.uk) Furthermore, when our system attempts to send mail to you then, if your mailserver reports your address as invalid our system blocks your email address to prevent the sending of mail which would otherwise 'bounce'. If this has happened, you can unblock your email address from My Profile. Changing Your PasswordWhen you change your password you are required to enter the password twice to ensure it is correct. An email confirmation will be sent to your current email address so that you have a record of the change. Passwords are always case sensitive, must be at least 6 characters long and comprise of letters and numbers only. This is to ensure that passwords are not easily guessed. Requesting Your PasswordIf you have forgotten your password you can request it to be sent to you. For security, we do not display passwords to people who are not logged in. When you request your password, perhaps because you have forgotten it we require you to enter both your login id and email address. If the email address and login id match our records your current password will be emailed to you. Sending us the current browser pageIf you need to forward a copy of a browser page which shows an error etc then first use File->Save (I.E.) or File->Save Page As (Firefox) to save the page to disk. You can then Contact Us to send the page to us as an attachment. Please do not use return addresses from emails you have received from us as they usually contain return addresses which result in the unsolicted email being thrown away. Browser IssuesCookiesPlease note that this site uses cookies to track your logon status only. The cookie is valid for +1d after you leave the site. Thereafter you are required to login again. If more than one person uses your computer you are advised to setup separate login accounts on your computer to avoid confusion. If that isn't possible then please make sure you click our Log Off menu option when you have finished accessing this site. Please note: browsers frequently cache web pages causing further confusion. We recommend that if you are experiencing logon problems that you press SHIFT+REFRESH to force the browser to reload pages from this website. If you do not have cookies enabled you you should see a pop-up alert telling you that this is the case. JavascriptThis site also uses Javascript on a number of pages. Please make sure it is turned on in your browser. If you do not have Javascript enabled you shoould see a message in your browser window to that effect. Pop Up windowsThis site uses pop-up windows to enhance your browsing experience. If you have installed a pop-up blocker on your machine it may prevent you from being able to utilise this site fully. However, some pop-up blockers are better than others and will allow you to add our site to the list of sites where pop-ups are allowed. We recommend you do this. Note that, at this time, we do not pop-up advertisements. The only advertising you will see forms part of the pages you are looking at.Other Browsers If you are a front end (such as AOL or Hotmail) which is not a standard web browser you may exprience some problems caused by URL re-writing. There is nothing we can do about this. However, you can always start up a standard web browser which you can get from these sources ...
... and you should have no problem accessing our site. LocationsOur initial Country,Province,County and Town drop down lists have been populated using publicly available data from the internet geonames websites (http://geonames.usgs.gov/domestic/download_data.htm and http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html) and through the use of the excellent free encyclopedia Wikipedia. If your particular town is not listed then please, for the moment, choose the nearest town to you. If you have information which can help us to improve the quality of our location database please use the Contact Us form to supply the correct information and we shall endeavour to update our database as soon as possible. Whilst we have organised town locations into Countries,Provinces, Counties and Towns we recognise that, in some countries entities such as Province and County may have a different meaning/name. In the USA lists, for example, Province is synonymous with State. In the United Kingdom (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) we have used Province to represent England, Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland. In island groups we have used Province to denote which island in the group. http://earth-info.nga.mil require us to include this credit:- Toponymic information is based on the Geographic Names Data Base, containing official standard names approved by the United States Board on Geographic Names and maintained by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
